My daughters are dying for a dog, but instead of actually getting them a dog I decided to throw a puppy birthday party for my youngest daughter. It had everything puppy -- candy, crafts, dog ear headbands, favors, stuffed animals, puppy cupcakes, but no real puppies and no real mess to clean up. Learn how to make all of the puppy projects in the gallery below on our site.
With three girls and numerous birthday parties I get asked how I come up with new ideas every year and my answer is "I don't." I never run out of ideas because the kids come up with them, they're the inspiration for every party and I just run with the ideas they give me.
1 These stuffed dogs from Build-a-Bear and this puppy bed from Pet Smart decorated the set at the Martha Show.
2 These balloons were made using our puppy template here: www.marthastewart.com/article/puppy-themed-party-ideas
3 I illustrated place mats with my daughter's name and puppies, which decorated the tables. I also sent out invitations and made favors using my illustrations.
4 Here, the table is decorated with the placemats, puppies from Oriental Trading, hats and cups deocrated with my illustrations, and chairs with dogs on them from IKEA.
5 We had dog stickers from Mrs. Grossmans, paw stamps and dog placemats to decorate from Oriental Trading, cookie cutters from birthdayexpress.com, and bone crayons from Celebrate Express.
6 I placed these small plush dogs from Oriental Trading on a cupcake stand as one of the decorations at the party.
7 Here are the bone crayons, bone sippy cups from Celebrate Express, miniature dog puppets, noses, bouncy balls, and a dog baseball hat from Oriental Trading, a dog towel favor from toweltreat.com, and cellophane bags from nashvillewraps.com.
8 Kate from Cake Power made these adorable puppy cupcakes. Learn how to make them here http://thefamilyroom.marthastewart.com/2011/04/19/how-to-make-puppy-cupcakes
10 On the cakestand are chocolates from Supreme Chocolatier and cookies from Eleni's. The puppy cake pops are from Cake Power and the dog lollipops below are from Oriental Trading.

I could have used some of these cute ideas when I was hosting our daughter's first birthday in March. These ideas are fabulous. A couple of them are the same resources but I have a few more ideas you should see. There are two posts but the direct link is.

Hi, I was looking at your web page and am planning on throwing a puppy party for my daughter. I was trying to look at the picture gallery and it would only allow me to see pics #1 and #2. If there's any way that you could email pics #3-#13 that would be great. I am so anxious to get some new ideas. Thanks so much!

What a cute party! Love the puppy balloons and pupcakes! I think I want to incorporate those elements into my pooch's next birthday party (yes, for my dog and all his doggie friends and their fabulous owners!). Here's what our actual pooch party looked like this year: http://the-wander-woman.com/dog-party-a-birthday-dessert-for-our-pooch/
